Silicon Valley CEO has issued a groveling apology after his racist tirade in a #California restaurant went #viral.
Michael Lofthouse, the British founder and #CEO of tech firm #Solid8, racially abused the Chan family at a Carmel Valley restaurant, seemingly unprovoked. Jordan Chan wrote on #Instagram that #Lofthouse began harassing the family after they sang happy #birthday to her aunt.
Chan’s mobile phone footage shows Lofthouse calling the family ‘an Asian piece of s*t’ and telling them ‘Trump’s going to fk you!’ According to Chan, he also told them off-camera to ‘go back to whatever f*king Asian country you’re from’ and said ‘you don’t belong here.’
Since being identified in the viral #video, the CEO has #deactivated his #LinkedIn and #Twitter accounts, telling the UK press: ‘My behavior in the video is appalling. This was clearly a moment where I lost control and made incredibly hurtful and divisive comments.’ He goes on to say he ‘was taught to respect people of all races.’
He must have had a really s**t #teacher.
